About the Position
You will join the Contrend team to develop and lead our exciting new SaaS platform. As an integral part of the team, you will ensure Contrend delivers to clients on a day-to-day basis, and oversee the successful implementation of Contrend’s Product Roadmap and Innovation Lab.

Working closely with the CTO and Head of Product (both based in Singapore), you will be responsible for communicating progress, identifying potential issues and creatively overcoming blockages and challenges as they arise.

The role requires a “hands on” approach; you will need to identify areas for modification in existing programs, write and implement efficient code, determine operational practicality, develop quality assurance procedures, deploy software tools, processes, metrics, and maintain and upgrade existing systems. Tasks can be supported by our Dev Intern and other developers, UX designers, and analysts (to be outsourced initially, then brought in-house through 2022).

You will also need to maintain relations with the Israel-based team that started Contrend development in 2021. This team will provide monthly consultancy services to support core functionality and Innovation Lab development. Additionally, with the support of Contrend CTO and HOP, you’ll also need to maintain communications with AWS, Contrend’s hosting partner.

Technical Requirements
Mandatory

Linux OS oriented: experience and very comfortable with working in Ubuntu environment, creating shell-scripts, basic understanding of linux networking.

Docker: Ability to create and run docker-container oriented project and create a docker-compose file; ability to solve docker-related environment errors; ability to run, debug and monitor local environment within docker.

Python: At least 3 years of experience in Python3, emphasis on Django server-side development and Object Oriented Programming; experience with multi-thread development.

DB: Experience working with SQL based DB, preferably PostgreSQL; ability to understand and create DB architecture.

Development Processes: Ability to conduct proper and standard git workflows; ability to lead a project which consists of a Django-React.JS based environment.

Proven experience in maintaining and responsibility over a production live environment.

Advantageous

Previous experience with Python’s NLP libraries.

Previous experience with OpenCV / PyTorch, regarding audio analysis and image recognition.

Knowledge of React.JS

Location
Singapore or +/- 3 hours time difference. Other locations may be considered for the right candidate.
